After three times of burning it finally copied. I have the 4.0.3.8 version. Is that a good one? Also is that a ripper or rf? I have been reading about DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. They seem very complicated to use. You also have to buy a Nero program; right? I am not very good on the computer and I need to do easy things. If you use the last two do you uninstall platinum? Sorry for all the questions but I am just getting started. Thanks.

pfarmer, you don't have to buy Nero, although, it is a great software suite. You can actually encode and burn with decypter. You can also use DVD Shrink to encode and burn with decrypter. You can encode with either one and burn with DVD XCopy, too. lol

So, you see, you have lots of options with those 3 programs. And no, you do not uninstall Platinum.

Pfarmer, I have had my burner a little over a week and I have been able to use Shrink and Decrypter w/ no problem. It really is very simple. I made a tutorial for my copmputer illiterate aunt who just bought a new computer. I can send it to you if you want. Just e-mail me at sussannamayfair(at)aol(dot)com and I'll send it to you.

pfarmer,

No need to apologize. As for Platinum, you really should get Platinum RF(v4.0.4.15RF).

Why RF(ripper free)? ... Because RF is the most current version and the browse button works, so your able to burn movies(video_ts files) saved on your HD. And along with a patch called 321rip, Platinum RF becomes a ripper version again :)

To get Platinum RF ... e-mail support@321studios.com, give them your current license and password, and make sure you ask them to issue you a new ripper free license. Once you've installed RF, get 321rip(download and execute the patch).

Also, have you figured out Shrink and Decrypter? And have you tried it?

Sorry Flip. I didn't really want to put my email up (already got one junk mail now....) but I didn't know how to PM him. Every other forum I've been on you just click the user's name but that didn't seem to work here.
