Anti-piracy group copies Pirate Bay for fake website

Phony Pirate Bay has real copies of pages, style sheets.
Finnish anti piracy group, TTVK, has uploaded a fake Finnish language copy of the Pirate Bay at piraattilahti.fi (literally translates as Pirate Bay). The page has been translated to Finnish, as well as the logo, which shows a pirate ship sinking.

Nah, Pirate Bay wouldn't consider them to have done anything wrong by taking a style sheet or even copying the design. They don't believe in Copyright remember? It's just a sort of "low" act of the anti-piracy group to try to trick finns by registering the name "piraattilahti", which means "pirate bay". Pointing out that they copied the style sheet just goes to show how much of a clone they wanted it to appear as.

ACtually they didn't even invent name 'piraattilahti' by themself, same domain with .org ending has been a popular tpb proxy for a quite while here, thats because court ordered main isps to block tpb domain and ip..

I imagine it would be IF the site allowed you to do anything illegal - in practice it doesn't. In my view this is simply an example of the media companies making too much money that they can afford to waste time like this. People who want free music wont even bother reading and people who are happy to fork out hard cash to support poor starving executives wouldn't bother looking for Pirate Bay in the first place.
Mark my words when piracy ie eradicated (or if) you will see prices rise from where they are now. Like it or not piracy has provided a good deal for the paying public by forcing music companies to distribute on line and compete more. What should the cost of music be - well I would argue what is paid to the artist + 10% to the music company and about 1% towards marketing and hosting costs. That at todays prices would get artistes about 40-50p a track 10p to the promoter per track and 1 p per track for hosting costs. Now I am guessing the artistes are making no more than 20 p at most which means no track should cost more than 25p to download - less if you buy more.

Even though there were/are laws about that in most places here in the US they ignore them or just flagrantly abuse them and use entrapment a lot of the time. They use women police dressed as hookers to entrap John's. We put a car in poor places leaving it wide open basically saying take me on it and bust kids for taking it. These are only some of the examples of entrapment as there are plenty more....
It is common place now for enforcement to be the criminal now in order to bust criminals, immoral and illegal but what can you say as they get away with it and no one seems to put up a stink about it as a whole.

Although I agree with your analogy, the facts are more likely to be that the artists are making around 1.7 cents (American money) per track on a $1 sale & the promotion is making around .65 to .72.
The rest is wrapped up in whatever distribution, kickbacks, slush funds & nose candy endeavors - both legal & probably more likely illegal that you care to think of.
Facts are, unless the artist themselves wrote into the agreement that they themselves have controlling interest in the music (in this case) & how ( & the who) get paid, 98% first time artists really do get the proverbial raping by the labels. No matter who they are (the labels I mean).
I wish it were better for these hard working folks, but as an educated, degree holding & battlefield tested member of the arts myself - everybody loves the arts, until they have to start paying for it.
