Google is reportedly in talks with payment processors to cut funding to piracy websites in order to make it more difficult for them to operate. Google has purged millions of links to copyright infringing content that was indexed by its Search engine in recent years. and google is going to get hurt as well when the hackers and pirates that run the site disable google and take down your site nice move google

Unlikely. Even if all the "pirates" decided not to use Google, that won't make a difference. However, Google wont suffer "a lot".

Why is Google a self-appointed police force, instead of the yellow pages ? Telling the bankers to turn down money from credit cards, funnier than a Marx Brothers film.

The government should take this to heart and think about using the same strategy in oh say... the drug war, the banking crisis, general corruption at every level...

Really why didn't they just start by looking at who makes the money from these illegal practices? Oh wait, piracy isn't about making money, it's about free trade of information. But then they seem to want to stop that just as badly.

That would be like a dog chasing its own tail. You wouldn't really expect the "government" to be following themselves would you?

Who really uses Google to find pirated material anyway? Most people know where to look if they want to find that kind of stuff without having to use a search engine.
