Ziff Davis, the recent purchaser of IGN, has announced today that they will be shutting down many of the gaming site's properties. The new owners will shut down 1UP, UGO and GameSpy and IGN will see layoffs, as well. Ziff Davis CEO wrote a memo for employees, and leaked by Polygon.
