Hi, I'm new to backing up DVD movies, and need help. When burning onto DVD-R, the burning process completes, but when Nero enters the Lead-Out stage, the burning ends up in error, with a Focus or Tracking error, and a Could not perform end of disc-at-once message. I've read in other similar posts that it's a media problem. For my case, it is. I used some cheap DVD-R (manufacturer id: AN31, or manufacturer name: Anwell Precision Technology), and received this error. When using Fujifilm DVD+R, the burning process is successful, therefore it is a media problem. Also, I've read that people can FINALIZE the disc using BatchDisc, or DVD Decrypter, to close the disc. However, neither seem to work, saying there were no incomplete sessions. When trying the bad disc in my DVD player, it takes at least 2 minutes to load up! I bought 50 of these discs, and can't return them, so I might as well use them. Does anyone know what I can do to make them load up like any other DVD backup? I'm using AN31 DVD-R's and a HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4040B firmware A112. Thanks for your help.

I would check to see that the media that you are using is compatible with your dvd device.

Another trick would be to try burning the rest of the AN31's slower such as 2X to help increase compatibility :)

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

Another person with the same brand burned a movie which loaded up right away on my dvd player, so it's probably just the burner being picky about the discs it's burning. But why can't I finalize, when I should be able to? That's the part that confuses me.

My burner only burns at 2x for -R media. Guess I'm just impatient waiting for the movie to load up heh.

Thanks for helping

i have the same burner as you. I have had problems with the finalizing and got it fixed by downloading this thing called a vso14. It worked great, but this was for DvdXcopy Platinum.

Thanks richromer, but does anyone know where I can download this "vso14?" Seems like other people with the same burner experienced the same problem.
