I just got the BT Voyager 200 router and I want to open up ports for bit torrent because I keep getting NAT errors and the speed is really slow. I've looked at the other articles here and I can't find any that look similar to mine. The router does have a firewall but it is disabled. I have included a picture of what my router configuration if that helps. Rather than post a large image I have included a link instead.

Yeah mate I still have the problem. I only got the router to play on xbox live. So I use my old broadband modem then switch to the router when I'm wanting to play on xbox live.

I would still like to find a solution to the problem though.

I've got the BT voyager 100 usb modem from my pervious broadband connection. When using Bit torrent the best speeds I would get would be between 45 and 50k. That?s the best you can get with a 512k line (I think).

When I got my router I upgraded to a 1mb line and now the maximum speed I can download using bit torrent is 113k which I'm disappointed with. I usually average 80 to 90k with it.

I don't get what you mean...

1MB = 2 x 512kb

In your case...

512kb = 45 - 50 kbs

1MB = "45 - 50 kbs" x 2

1MB = 90 - 100 kbs

And since you're getting more or less the same results, you should be happy.

A 1mb line is advertised as 10 times faster than normal broadband. Therefore I was expecting more than an extra 40k on my downloads.

Well if you did the math, you would see your speed is pretty decent for your speed.

I just wish I could get cable here. The computers in the my college are downloading at 900k plus.

To answer Ayres question. I'm not getting those download speeds when I'm using the router. Like you I would be lucky if I get over 20k with it.

However the other day I did get over 100k with the router but in that case there was hundreds of seeders.

I have changed my config of the router. In the virtual server I've opened up ports 6881 to 6885. Bit torrent goes to other ports higher up than that but I couldn't be bothered opening them up.
