I just got my matrix infinity fitted, and was wondering if i can play online game with it and if so how i fink the chip is version 1.2 because wen u put a game in it comes up wen da game starts wot version it is, but pls could some1 tell me if i can play online games or not.

You can play originals if you turn the chip off. But you can't play back ups online.

Straight from the Infinity site:

Turning Off the Infinity:
Press start from Joypad 1 until the writing "DISABLED" will appear on screen.
The infinity is now disabled until PS2 turned off to Standby Position

I went to the infinity website and read the things it says on there about the chip and how to turn it off, so i tryed all the things and they didn't work so thought maybe i didn't have a matrix infinity, but at the top of the infinity website it says that if you take joypad 1 it out and switch the computer on it should take 10-15 seconds looking for a joypad and then load up in normal mode and thats what mine done.

Ok sorry about this but i figured out how to disable the chip and all that, but the thing is i can't play the backup games now and was wondering how i enable it again?

Turn the system off and the turn it back on again.
