Microsoft has begun offering a free Touch or Type Cover to all new U.S. and Canadian buyers of the Surface RT tablet. The move is aimed at attracting buyers to the struggling tablet and is a pretty good deal given that the covers cost between $100 and $129 depending on how you purchase them. so are product is not selling well so where going to give you a worthless cover instead of including the keyboard no thank you

The cover is the keyboard. It's not "instead of" the keyboard.

If they had included the cover with the Surface to start with, and knocked the price down another $100, it would have sold like hotcakes. It was a pretty boneheaded move for Microsoft to enter the market three years late but price their product as if they were first.

Hopefully they're learning their lesson. This inclusion of the touch/type cover is a big step in the right direction.
