Ive been using Waze off and on for my phone for a little over a year now, and I always thought that the idea behind it -- a "social media" GPS -- was golden, particularly the part about being able to be alerted of speed traps or cops nearby, and also unexpected congestion. What it always lacked was a large enough population in the U.S. to live up to its potential. Hopefully with Google as the -- pardon the pun -- driving force behind it now, it can grow some wings.
