I have an older system that used to play DVD's well. It is a 950mhz with AMD athlon processor. I have 384MB RAM. The DVD player is a DVD/CD-ROM A-openDVD 1640 pro. The operating system is windows ME. The software is leadtek winfast DVD. I have tried to update the driver but the system gave a message that it currently had the best one already installed. I did a selective startup and had all the programs that normally run during startup closed. This didn't help at all. The drive works well with CD's but not DVD's. It used to work really well. I'm trying to view an airshow recorded on a friends camcorder. He made the DVD on a phillips DVD+R disk. Everyone else has been able to view the DVD on their players. The DVD drive cleaner did not work. I've searched here on the forums but everybody has different specs than I do and I don't know how significant those differences are. So if you have heard this question a million times, I apologize.
Are there better players out there that are compatible with my system?
