Hey guys whats up ive been using dvd shrink for over a year now without ever a problem then today when trying to back up a movie of my sons , bugs life to be exact dvd shrink told me error reading disc sector encrypted. Whats going on with this? Any help is greatly appretiated.

DVd shrink sometimes finds a disc that it can't "rip". It just happens.

You could try downloading DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper and trying to rip the title with one of those. Remember to use the Mode "files" within both applications. These "files" can then be opened up within Shrink using the "Open Files" option on the main menu.

Hey thanks for the quick reply, yes i tried that and had just finished up before your post LOL , it werked just fine and shrink is backing up as we speak. Thank you for the response.

I've found that running DVD43 (1.4) helps give Shrink the boot on the patoot it needs when this error occurs :)
