As I continue to read the threads about the different Ritek labels, we find that there are different manufacturers involved, quality etc. I initially ordered a 200 pack of Ritek discs from Meritline. This was the description:

200 Pack Ritek? 4X DVD+R Blank Media 4.7GB DVDplusR Discs (DVD Plus R Disc) $0.92 Each

When I received the package, it was unbranded, with a small "Ridata" in the middle. I'm not sure if I got what I paid for, but the discs seem to be fine. Now, as I examine my choices for my current order, there are MANY different varieties of Riteks available. There are a few that are on sale that I'm currently interested in. The first concern for me, was how whether I should go with the Ritek G04 DVD-R's, or the Ritek DVD+R's. My next question is, Are the Ritek Ridata Branded the same quality as the Ritek Silver Matte? It would seem that the only difference is the printing on the disc, but I've been looking through various forums, and there are those that say that the branded media is bad, while the silver matte media is good. Also, has anyone tried the AZO Plus, or Meritline discs? I'm thinking about getting some cheapies, for the LiteOn Standalone DVD Recorder that I'm on the verge of buying.

Hi,

There are quite a few choices for the Riteks aren't there?

I personally use the RiDATA branded media exclusively and haven't had a single bad burn with them.

As far as the cheapie AZOs from Meritline, ScubaPete tried some of the Great AZO from there and has disappointing results with them so personally I would steer clear of them especially with the RiDATA being such a good deal of late.
