Sony shows off new, slimmer and cheaper PS Vita PCH-2000

Sony has unveiled a new model of their PS Vita handheld.
The new Vita PCH-2000 is 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than the original model while increasing battery life by one hour on average.
Additionally, the new device will be Wi-Fi-only and be a Japanese exclusive for the time being.

Too little, too late.
If Sony had either used standard SD cards (or some other well-represented format) , instead of their silly bullshit proprietary cards from the beginning, OR had the sense to make the proprietary versions comparable in price, the system probably would have been quite successful.

What a waste!!!
Why didn't they just make this thing this light and thin to begin with. PS Vita had an up-hill climb from the very start when priced at 350.00.........now it's nothing more than a paperweight because nobody games on these things anymore............they game on their phones.
And now no OLED??
Also, how is lessening the price of a 4GB Sony proprietary JUNK memory card to 15 bucks and the 64GB to 105 help???? WHAT A RIP

i share one with a friend and keep not using it at all... My biggest issue is the games price, they should be no more than $5 or $10 for blockbusters. I have an arsenal of games on my tablet and android phone, mostly $0.99 but at least 15 were $5 or more, got 4 games for Vita and no more love

Not to be mean, but game development on the Vita cost more ( and far more bigger development teams) than Tablets and Phones, hence the bigger price tag.

Changing from proprietary to standard format will piss of a lot of current owners of the Vita. They made a smarter move of lowering the prices of the cards. And the possible reason why they are high priced in the first is because digital copies of games are cheaper that the hard copies.

Furthermore, how does the cheaper distribution costs justify overcharging for proprietary storage? Point of fact, it doesn't, and the Vita's dismal sales numbers bear that out.

Sorry about that. Guess I missed that part.
But to counter the second part: retail store would either sell the games at a lower price conpared to their digital downloads or sell the memory cards at a higher price to compete with the ps store. Guess which one they choose.
