I was wondering is this mod chip reliable and is its compatible with the hdd in the ps2 v9. Ive read that with some messiah's you would have to remove the hd in order to play back ups. is this true ....please provide as many info on this chip as possible,thanks

To my knowledge, the messiah 2 1.33b does work with the HDD. I am pretty sure you don't have to remove the HDD to play back ups with the 1.33b version. It is a pretty good chip, although a little out dated.

There is a new Messiah 2 V2.0 with a lower wire count but I have not ever tested it to so how well it works. But that is the newest one. But since the messiah team is going down in the UK I doubt we will really ever see them.

thanks but i have this mod chip(messiah 2 pro v1.33) installed on my ps2 and it wont detect the hdd....i have the sony hdd and it tells me that it can not detect the hard drive...my back ups work fine....i also swaped the jumper in the hdd and it detects the hdd but it wont let me boot my back ups....can you help thanks

Maybe you got an older version messiah 2. Because I know for a fact that it wors with the Sony HDD. Are you sure its a 1.33b?
