Can I use dvd-decrypter to rip and burn a dvd-9 to a dual sided dvd-r 9. Just looking for a easier way to do this than the 2 dvd-r method. Most of the dvd's that I want to backup are between 5 to 8 GB range. Maybe there is another guide than dvd-decrypter. I also did a search on this but only came up with dvd-9 to 2 dvd-r. Any help will help me a lot.

thanks.

Hmmmmm, Dual sided DVD-9. Now aware of those. 9GB DVDs are Dual Layered and only able to be made by manufacturers. If you want to burn bigger files, you have two choices : Make two DVD-Rs, or lower the bitrate to fit more movie, lower quality, on one DVD-R.

Paul.

First off thanks Paul for the tips. I'm new to the hold dvd ripping and burning process. I bought some dvd-r from www.cd-dvd-supplies.com and I saw that they were selling 9.4 GB dvd-r's. I was wondering if I could use them to backup my anime dvd collection. Most of my anime or 5 to 8 GB copy protection free. I'm having a hard time understanding the guide for the 2 dvd-r process.

the blank double sided dvd-rs are the sames as regualar dvds. its just got 4.7 on both sides. it adds up enough for big movies but the only difference would be u would have to flip the disk over half way through the movie opposed to putting a new disk in. so its really the same as burning to 2 4.3's just with out the second disk because it just goes on the other side. its really called a dvd10. u can't buy blank dvd-9's because of the special way they are produced. and even if u got a hold of one u would have to have the special burner to work with it.
