I recently had great trouble installing a Messiah V2 mod-chip to my v5/v6 PS2. After soldering all the points, it didn't work spent another day unsoldering the wires out which took a lot of time.
Now, i am thinking of using a software to play my back-up PS2 game but don't really know which to use?

I heard that SwapMagic needs to take the drive out, is that true? and also is there a boot-up method which uses the Memory Card? Please recommend me a good and relable method!

I'd say the simplest way to play backups and/or import games, and since you've already opened your PS2, is the Flip Top lid. It's very reliable, and most websites sell it bundled with Swap Magic.

There is also the option of the Slide Card, but that takes a bit of practice to get good with. The Slide Card also uses Swap Magic, and is usually bundled with it on most websites as well.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you. Go with the method you feel safest with.

i use no solder mod chip you just take off the cover and flip the ps2 over and plug it up,all games i have tried (over 40) including new games like silent hill 4 the room jap,work fine with it and no problems!
