Are you using a direct crossover cable connection or a network hub/switch/router? Also, what version of Windows are you running?

When you turn on the Gamecube and startup an online Phantasy Star game does Windows detect a network connection? Also, do you have that connection bridged to another one? That will cause a problem. Does the jack on the onboard NIC have any lights on it? Do they light up or blink? Does the onboard NIC otherwise work when connected to another computer or network device if you usually have it hooked up to one?

thereīs no light on onboard NIC. Windows doesnīt detect the connection when gc itīs on. I canīt test if the onboard NIC works with another computer. I will try to find another LAN adapter, but this should work too. iīm not bridging any connection, i have dial up so i have another modem separately.

Also to verify proper TCP/IP configuration, open a Command Prompt on the PC and at the prompt type "ping 192.168.1.100" without the quotes. If you get replies, your PC is configured correctly. Then try "arp -a" and see if the IP address 192.168.1.32 is listed. If not, you don't have a physical connection. Either a faulty NIC or cable. Also check in your motherboard's BIOS to see if the onboard NIC is disabled. If it wasn't being used for anything prior it might be disabled.

nope. All works ok. I tested the cable with my other pc, it works. I bought another LAN card and neither.
The problem itīs the gc connection. Are you sure this works?.

the TCP/IP settings are ok, i tested it with other computer īcause if not connected the cable it says: "Unable to resolve host". The arp -a test returned me "ARP entries not found". I tested with gamecube on, starting an online game, and with others methods too.

I know that the cable and the LAN card works, cause i tested with another computer. The gamecube and the PSO works too, i played PSO. The only thing i donīt know if work, itīs the BBA, but itīs new, i never tested it but itīs new.

Thanks

The arp -a command not returning any entries indicates that connectivity is not ocurring between your PC and the Gamecube. Had connectivity been established, you should have seen a list with atleast two entries, one for 192.168.1.32 and 192.168.1.100. How about the "ping 192.168.1.100" command, what results did that return?

But what response did you get when you ran that ping command after attempting to stream while still connected to the Gamecube?

That means that TCP/IP is incorrectly configured on your PC. Right-click "My Network Places" and select properties. From there, right-click the network adapter that is connected to your Gamecube and select properties again. There will be a box labeled "This connection uses the following items:". Double-click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and set all properties as per my tutorial. If configured correctly, running the command "ping 192.168.1.100" from the command prompt without the quotes should always get replies.

NOPE, itīs well configured, when i put the cable on other PC, the ping worked. The problem itīs connection between GC and PC. The ping only works when cable itīs well connected. I said, The TCP/IP settings ARE WELL, all the other things ARE WELL. the problem itīs the connection between the gc and the pc. I insist, I tested the TCP/IP settings with another PC and worked.

You cannot verify TCP/IP for proper configuation by connecting to another PC. The settings are specific to the Gamecube connection. Check what I said above and after you have done that run the ping 192.168.1.100 command. If it is not successful when connected to the Gamecube, your PC is still not configured correctly.

My PC its configured well, the problem itīs that i CANT ping the 192.168.1.100 cause windows doesnīt detect the connection when gamecube itīs on. THAT THE PROBLEM, when gamecube is on, it says "cable disconnected".

Dude you don't get it, Icemonkey said if you can't connect your PC to the GC then the PC is not configured correctly to hooked up to the GC. Think about it man, if the PC is configured correctly, then why is there no connection established between it and the GC? You are only assuming that the PC is correctly set up when it's not. Reconfigure your PC and follow Icemonkey's instructions again.

That address, 192.168.1.100 isn't your Gamecube it's your PC. I'm trying to get you to successfully ping yourself. That command should work even with the cable disconnected. Windows won't detect a connection on that cable until you actually start streaming something to/from the Gamecube. Again, your TCP/IP configuration settings may work properly when connected to another PC but that doens't mean they are configured properly for Gamecube streaming. Try changing the TCP/IP settings on your computer as I described above and when you can get replies back by pinging 192.168.1.100 we can proceed further with troubleshooting this issue.

Ok, now what happens when you ping it? If you don't get replies back then something else is wrong. You do not need a connection to the Gamecube in order to ping yourself. The cable disconnected status is normal. The Gamecube uses a stateful connection. You will only see a connection occur while running Phantasy Star Online in online mode and during streaming. The next thing to check is the TCP/IP configuration on the Gamecube once you get the PC side straightened out.

"Step 1: Boot Phantasy Star Online Game Disc
Pretty self explanitory.

Step 2: Setup Network Profile

When prompted for the TCP/IP settings, choose manual, do not auto-disconnect, and enter an IP address of

192.168.1.32 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.1.100. For the Primary DNS server,

enter 192.168.1.100."

Unfortunatelly, it would appear that you seem to be experiencing some kind of unexplained internal network error. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your network adapter, set it like we discussed before and try to ping it again. You're not going to be successful streaming to the Gamecube until this problem gets fixed.
