Apple has confirmed today that some iPhone 5S handsets were hit by a manufacturing defect that causes the battery to drain much quicker than it should. it is not battery related at all there is a fix but apple won't disclose what it is which means something to do with iOS 7 would be my guess

But, if it was a battery defect it could always be replaced. Oh, wait...

It is. The background app update will kill your phone in an instant. The other problem I wish they'd fix is with iMessage. If you use it on another supported device, such as an iPad or Mac, your phone blows up constantly and drains the device rapidly.
