Comparing the two best mid-sized tablets: The Apple iPad Mini with Retina vs. The LG G Pad 8.3

article published on 23 December, 2013

Somewhat quietly, both Apple and LG released the best 8-inch tablets on the market over the last couple of months. With a larger display and a $100 cheaper price tag, it would appear right off the bat that the G Pad 8.3 may have the upper hand, but after using the tablets for weeks it is clear the "fight" is much, much closer, with both tablets performing excellently across the board. ... [ read the full article ]

It's the SD card that's makes the LG a clear winner.

Everyone says that sd card slots are better....but these are the days or virtual memory. I abandoned my USB drive for example and use Dropbox to open or close projects for school or business. Google drive itself grants free 30gb of memory to throw whatever shlock you want. I'm just going to call it, SD card slots are nothing but half-useful gimmicks. People should be exposed to cloud sites like Dropbox, GDrive, SkyDrive, etc.! End of story

I prefer to keep my data more secure (local media). Cloud storage has its uses, but I guess I'm old school..

SD slots are nice, but not in my house. My, wife, God love her, has a photography business and has MANy sd cards. Mine usually goes missing. That being said, I have an iPad with 128gb and transferring pictures from her camera over to the pad for clients to look at is quick and easy for my wife to use. She is by NO means computer literate, and she like the quick transfer option, so she doesn't lose cards that she is currently working on/with.
