Is it possible that a DVD will simply no be possible to rip?

I was trying to rip Tromeo and Juliet from Troma DVD and I never have been able to rip the movie. I tried several software (such as Clad DVD XP, Smart Ripper, vStrip, DVD Decrypter, DVD Master and I also return in time trying to use DeCss), but nothing works.

The rip goes fine until a precise moment where it always stop with every software. I'm able to get like the first 250 mb of the first VOB and it just stop right there.

The movie have 9 chapters. If I try to rip chapter 2 to 9, it works fine. Its only the first chapter that does not work.

Does someone know what is happening with this DVD? What could be doing this? Anybody have a clue?

Thankx in advance. BreYers.

It is possible that the DVD is 'spoilt' at that point and whilst a standalone may 'ignore' it and run forward, a software ripper might try to get that data depending on settings. You could try with SmartRipper changing the 'fast error' settings, which might skip the error, but I can't promise that to work. Anyone else?

Good luck

:-)

Paul.

I already tryed to use the fast skip error option, but it does'nt do anything.

What you said maybe true, the DVD could be spoiled. But I don't understand that when I'm listening to the movie, I don't see anything bug in the movie.

Thankx for your help.

Although it has never bothered me, some tell me that SmartRipper has some 'issues' with scratched DVDs. I can't offer a solution, except perhaps trying new ripping software. You could try DVDecrypter.

Anyone?
