I use mpeg video wizard to edit my mpeg files but am now also in need of a very good AVI editor.
Can anyone sugggest a good programme that gives good results and is fast (something similar to MVW if thats possible)

VirtualDub and/or one of it's mods (VirtualDubMod, NanDub) have been enough for me.
Search the software section for those progs.

Never used MVW so don't really know wether they're anything like you're looking for.

the original vdub is stable.
vdubmod most stable and latest is 1.5.4.1
if you want to use 1.5.10.1 get the latest bugfix release 2349 (i think)

nandub is old i don't use it anymore.

Just trim what you want and select 'Direct stream copy' from video or while saving and save the file.
No re-encoding is done.
The source audio it usually used by default so no reason to change its settings.

Thanks for that, i should have worked that out for myself. VDMod is an excellent bit of freeware.
Cheers 'Pein' & 'Shiroh' for your input.
