dvd decrypter is free and does the same thing. I get the feeling you were under the impression that gamesxcopy lets you copy ps2 games and play them without a mod, which is false.
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Look if ps2 games or reading iso and writing iso the best policy is to format your dvd blank to writer iso. thats where you would be able to use your copy with out the mod chip

You'll still need a mod chip. Have you tried your little theory? Made a PS2 backup (in ISO mode) and tried to play it in a PS2 without a mod chip?

As much as I discourage double posts ... I suggest you check the PS2 forum.

Unable to play backup disk on PS2.
I was going to purchase the Flip-Top Shell. It's suppose to be the easiest way to mod your PS2 to play backups and imports! The ad reads With our new Flip-Top Shell and your Swap Magic Disc you've got the perfect no-solder solution for playing your backups and imports! (Please specify your PS2 version.) My PS@ model is SHPS-50001/N version 9 or 10..I'm not sure which. Can anyone give me a review or any insight about this product. I would purchase a mod chip, but I don't want to do the soldering. info at www.chipzone.com Thanks
