I am looking at a Panasonic PV-4734S combo player at Costco. I need it to play VCD or SVCD that I will make myself. The specs for its format is as follows:

Playback formats: DVD-Video (NTSC), red book CD, VHS videocassette
I don't know what red book means or if DVD-Video (NTSC) includes VCD or SVCD.
