i do you want to use encoded files or not? - and do you mean to play on a Standalone Divx player, or a normal standalone dvd player?

To watch on a stand alone Divx/DVD player like the KISS units. I do not wish to re-encode to DVD format but to write the Divx files as I download them.

What i mean is the DVD format ie ISO UDF ISO& UDF?

Just copy them over to dvd and play them on a Divx/DVD player. I have put as many as seven if they fit. They play great, while saving disk.

I'm not sure what extended filesystems the DivX-compatible DVD players support, other than the standard UDF and ISO formats (because that's what DVDs use as a filesystem bridge to the data content on the disc) - you could certainly try a dualmode burn with both ISO and Joliet as the secondary filesystem, so you may be able to access the long filenames but have the 8.3 structure as a fallback.

[23:47] <+cjdawg> can I use DeCSS for web design then?
