WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, has revealed that the service hit a new record by processing 64 billion messages in one day. There were 20 billion messages sent and 44 billion messages received by WhatsApp users. I don't get the fascination about this. Not sure what it does outside of what the phone can do without the app.

Then again, I haven't owned a cell phone in 8 months and don't deal in apps but this one seems like it draws massively on data so I guess one would essentially need unlimited data.

Either way.....LAME!

Peeps rely too much on mobile communications.

I live outside the US, so SMS is capped with charges for going over, so Whatsapp and BBM are the major apps being used for texting here. Also, with whatsapp, I am able to send unlimited texts to family (who also have whatsapp) in the US.
