Hi everyone,

Recently, I had my ps2 mod-chipped and it's driving me nuts. The problem is that the ps2 backups boots randomly(on some days, it will take 1/2 hr to boot). With psx games, bottom 1/3 of the screen is gone.

I have handed the thing back to the mod-chip guy to look at but he says its the laser and tries to convince me that the chip is working because some discs run. Well, some of my discs have minor scratches but the thing I don't understand is why temperamental booting happens whether the disc is scratched or not. (And yeah, the same *scratched* discs works on a friend's ps2)

My v9 ps2 is modded with magicV chip. I will be very grateful if someone can shed some light on it? Many thanks. Please.
