Hello,

Since I discovered this superb site, I've decided to make some backups of precious games...
I've read some of the posts and the guide to set things up but I have some questions for starting.

1. Can I backup imported(JP/USA) games and stream on my European cube??? Or stream imported backups (don't ask...) on my PAL cube?
2. Do I have to run PSO every time I want to stream a backup???

Sorry if the answers to my questions are to be found in the forum.

Then my search for a broadband adapter and PSO begins today...well tomorow actually it's 10.32 pm now. =)
I let you know when i'll start my "project"!
Maybe I'll rent PSO 3 later on and test some, dunno.
Hope they'll work on a loader with the speedlimitcrack implemented.

PSO 1 & 2, not PSO 3

(there's various reports of people getting various levels of success with PSO 3)

But generally, you want PSO 1&2, or PSO 1&2JAP, or PSO3JAP, English PSO3 doesn't seem to like loading/ripping/streaming.

Oh.. and the new PSO 1&2 PLUS, that one is bad too, you want the old original one.

Is it possible to stream freeloader and whilest streaming it, using it to load a foreign backup that is not compatible. Like I would really like to play Paper Mario 2. Suppose I download the backup image and would like to stream it to my cube...But I've read in a compability list that it'll only runs on JAP cubes.
So my point is: streaming Freeloader and streaming PPM2 simultaneous...?

thx

It should run without the use of the freeloader. Streaming bypasses the Gamecube's contry check mechanism.

You can stream JAP and US games just fine... the problem is some of the jap games are stupid, and require you to solder a couple leads to make them playable on US cubes.

I don't think freeloader lets you get away from soldering.

Wait til PPM2 comes out in the US? If ever?

Yes, to be specific, you are looking for a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) RJ45 (8 pin) Crossover Cable.

If you happen to have an rj45 crimper, and some cable sitting around, I found a nifty little diagram for wiring connectors (And interesting if anybody cares to know why a crossover cable is different)

http://www.prosoft.force9.co.uk/pc/rj45%20diagrams.gif

If you happen to live in Canada, www.futureshop.ca sells broadband adapters for $49.99 CAD. (They tend to keep less than 5 in stock though, might be a sign they won't be selling them soon)

No it is not. The BBA and GBP can't be hooked up at the same time. However, if they could, with the right software, yes you could.

are you sure they cant be hooked up at the same time? *goes and looks at his brothers gameboy player... *

yes you can.. two different slots.. it'll just be weird, the gameboy player would be physically underneath the broadband adapter..would both hook up and should both work the same... i dont know why they wouldnt let you do it at the same time just wouldnt make sense ;P

The Gamecube is not aware of the Gameboy Player's connection unless you boot the Gamecube with the included Gameboy Player Boot Disc. When booting with the Gameboy Player Boot Disc, the Gamecube is not aware of the Broadband Adapter connection. What you have here is kind of a chicken or egg scenario. There are already better solutions available for making Gameboy Advance cartridge backups.

My first game I've tested was LoZ:4S...runs superb, have played it alot with my girlfriend! fun fun (and to think it hasn't been released here in Europe...)
I've allready made my first succesfull backup of my precious Joe and streamed it. Planning on backing up all my games...and putting them on a dvd-rw together with Phoenix.
Most of my games will not run super cause of the speedlimitbull**** (really need someone to fix this!!!), but meanwhile i can donate em to the network.
