Nest Labs has recalled about 440,000 of its Nest Protect smoke detectors, due to safety concerns that a feature glitch could potentially delay an alarm from sounding. Waving your arms for a switch was pretty dumb for a design approach, over a positive remote control switch, like an iOS or Android app, and/or a simple remote control. But it sounds like they finally woke up after 440K sales and they didn't do like Ford, Toyota, or GM, and deny there even was a problem.

Since no one smokes now and people don't cook anymore it shouldn't matter to have that feature anyway... LOL

If people don't smoke anymore, why is weed now legal in almost half the country? Of course that leads to even more smoke...as people forget that they put a tray of cookies in the oven 4 hours ago (and they remembered to turn on the oven at least half the time).
