Hi,

I recently bought a GR-D200 JVC and I'm really lost.

This camcorder has firewire and USB ports.

I've tryed to use USB to capture a video with the software that came with the camera, and (it captures at 320x 240) when I tryed to see it using windows media player the result was terrible, the image was worst than VHS.

So I'd like to know if I capture the video using a firewire port, does the quality will improve? Will it be a DVD quality?

Or when you burn a DVD, using a MPEG 1 (320x240) the program that does it, change the format to MPEG 2 and the resolution will be improved???

I'm really lost, because when you see those movies on TV using mini-DV tapes, the result is fantastic. It's like a DVD. So I'm thinking if the right way to store my movies is using mini-DV tapes, DVDs, ...

Plz any tip will help ...
