While it was easily overlooked in the excessively long WWDC keynote today, Apple announced that with iOS 8 you will be able to save minutes with Wi-Fi calling, a feature long available for Android devices. They talk a good game...but only they have WiFi calling so that their customers in the suburbs can make calls when not at work in the city.

This is quite true, I can see VZ and ATT not doing this until the absolute last minute.

I turn on my WiFi once I get home, and use the WiFi calling feature then. Have been doing that for a few years now.
