How come blank DVD's only have a capacity of 4.7gb while the DVD movie discs you buy in the store take up alot more space? I'm sure Titanic for example takes up around 10 gb and it's a single sided dvd!

DVD5 holds app. 4.3Gig. You copy to these. They are one sided single layer.

DVD9 holds 8+ Gig. It's a 'dual layer' disc and only one sided.

Commercial DVDs are pressed, we burn ours. Dual-layer media is now available but at $18-$20 each.
