Does movie piracy hurt sales and cost jobs? The MPAA and other trade groups would certainly have you believe that it does but at least on economist believes that notion is bunk. They're still gonna argue that it affects their sales in the long run.

Besides, people are crazy for TV mini-series now. I even know people who've given up on movies for entertainment.
