Netflix buys rights to stream 'Gotham' before it has even aired on TV

article published on 2 September, 2014

That's a pretty sweet deal for Netflix; let's hope the show was worth it.

Yet ANOTHER frivolous report/comment on an AD article!

"Netflix buys rights to stream 'Gotham' before it has even aired on TV"

however..............

"The show will be available to Netflix subscribers after its U.S. broadcast run"

According to the latter statement and from everything I've heard, it's not "BEFORE IT HAS EVEN AIRED".

Nonsense BSing articles!!!

You over-read into this...

Basically what it said, and this was on other sites using similar wording; is that's it's unusual for any streaming service to order in a show prior to it being aired on a televised channel.

So no their wording didn't misrepresent anything and was not frivolous but indeed accurate. As Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc.. usually have to wait at least 1 season after the show's aired to have the right to bid on streaming it. Hence it's unusual.

Indeed you're right. I read it half the wrong way. Clearer now with fresh perspective.

I'm rather excited about this show but think it'll last for a year or 2 (struggling) and get cancelled like most shows nowadays. This will likely be a quick cancellation.

Yes, I hear you there; I too want this show to be good, but am sceptical. Half the reason I am is the cast, the other half of my scepticism is the story; still I'll with-hold judgement until we can view it, who knows: it could actually surprise us.

I soooo this show to do good, but being on FOX, a network known for destroying good shows (Firefly, Almost Human, Space: Above And Beyond to name a few) makes me worried.

Can't say I'm optimistic about this show. Seems stupid.... so it will probably do really well!
