This is a sad situation. I have used Twitpic for years and Twitter benefited from their photo service. Now that Twitter is a huge billion dollar company they have the power to not play nice any longer. It's a shame Twitter didn't just buy Twitpic out. It would have made for better PR for Twitter instead of forcing Twitpic to close down.
