Nexus devices starting to see Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout

article published on 13 November, 2014

Google has finally begun rolling out the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its Nexus reference devices. As of this morning, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (both generations) and the Nexus 10 will start seeing the OTA operating system update. And expect to see this OS just like every other lousy release of Android to bog down in a short amount of time, become over-encumbered with temp files and rogue programs.

JUST SAY NO!........to cell phones. Ditch them and find yourselves paying more attention to life around you. F the phone while waiting in line! F the phone while eating out! F the phone while driving. (Bathroom use of a phone is legit though) Pay attention to those you're with! Enjoy conversations.

All you people heavily relying upon your cell phone to constantly occupy your attention just don't realise how putzy you really are until you give it up!

Been w/o for 1.5 years now. BEST DECISION EVER. The ONLY circumstance that would truly make me want a phone is if I broke down on hwy. Besides that, all long trips I bring someone else's for emergency.

hearme0, FWIW, a better solution may be to go with a phone without data services...I use a t-mobile pay as you go phone, calling and text only (pay per call/text). It costs me about $25-35 per YEAR for light usage and I have a phone for emergency use and my occasional trips and calling. They don't have the best signal around, but it works. (Actually, I recently replaced my dumb phone with a cheap $60 Nokia 521 or something like that. I still don't get and use data services, but it supports that over wifi, so in a pinch, if you need to lookup something on the Internet, there's always somewhere with wifi.)
