When I download a movie, it extracts to weird files

Hey, I'm kinda new to this DVD burning thing, and when I download this torrent file, it extracts to two folders, and CD1 folder and a CD2 folder. Inside the folder, all there is, are WinRAR archives ending in .cd1 or .cd2, there are also files ending in .r40, .r41, .r42 etc. What am I supposed to do with these files, in order to burn them on a DVD+R?

Is this legal as it all sounds a little dodgy to me and we do not talk about dodgy stuff.When someone mentions downloading movies it normally is.

Sorry, Let me put it this way, I downloaded a file, but it comes out to all of these strange files, and some winRAR archives, what do I do with these files to burn them to a DVD-R?

Very, very few legal movies,games or software are downloaded off BiTorrent in rar archives. That's why everyone is so skeptical.
