Google has struck deals with Sprint and T-Mobile U.S. and will offer wireless services directly to consumers.
There are no other details available about how much Google will charge, or where the mobile plans will be offered.

I was with T-mo for 9 years after having had V for 4 before that.
My wife has Sprint. Sprint is hands-down the crappiest service among the 4 and T-mo isn't far behind. I remember having to wait like 30-45 seconds for a page to appear. I would grab phone out of pocket, pull up browser and wait for Yahoo or any webpage to even start downloading. I felt like I was waiting in line. Called T-mo and they said "essentially you ARE waiting in line". Not the case with ATT or V!
So I ported my number to Vonage and shut down the crap service that is T-mo over a year and a half ago. Never regretted my decision to ditch cellular all-in-all.

It you're using Vonage, have you ever heard of Ooma?
I was like you; fed up with the overpriced, low quality cell coverage crap. And the same can be said for the standard landline; overpriced.
So I dumped all of them and went with Vonage. I was with them for a year or 2 when I realized my bill was creeping up more and more. So when I was looking around for different options I came across Ooma.
All it is, you buy the equipment and that's it. Just plug it in to your internet just like you would your Vonage. I do have to pay some federal tax every month, I think it's a buck-something. But that's federal law, everyone has to pay no matter what service they use.
I want to say my Ooma was like $200 when I bought it. I just got the basic box. With my Vonage bill up to $20-ish a month, the Ooma paid for itself in less than a year and I've been using it for about 3 years now with no problems.
