Earlier this week, electronics retailer RadioShack officially filed for bankruptcy, with plans to sell around 2000 of its stores to its largest shareholder and closing the rest permanently.
As part of the bankruptcy plan, major carrier Sprint will open up "mini-shops" in up to 1750 of the remaining stores, doubling their brick-and-mortar presence in the U.S.

So did radio shack! Their prices were higher than a kite! Which is why I will not miss them....only used them for cables and I can get those at other places.
Honestly i find this funny the radioshack by us is right next to a sprint store and the sprint store is in 100 mile dead zone where there phones don't work at all interesting how you sell phones without service.

Ditto!! I needed a simple audio cable, and they wanted on near $20 for it. I ordered from Amazon, had to wait a couple days, but got it for less and $2 with free shipping...........I won't miss them either.
As a musician, RS was always there in a pinch. If you don't have time to wait for Amazon (like on the way to a gig) and need a special cable adapter, RS was the place to go.
