I have tried everything i can think of to burn games. They all work perfectly on dvd-r that I burnt at a friend's house, but my burner is only dvd+r. i can't get any games to work on the plus format. I think I heard somewhere that it is possible to burn games on plus as long as you use a certain brand of discs. if anyone can confim this, or has any other other ideas then please let me know.

what version PS2 do you have? + discs only work on some version 4s and most higher.

Yep - you're gonna either need to get a new dual format burner or a new PS2.

I have a version 9 PS2. And plus discs do work as I use them to burn movies. Also, I have gotten a few games to work on dvd+r but they always run really slowly and skip a lot. So I need to know if anyone knows some better way to make the games, either by burning at low speed, considering it is hard to find a plus disc that burns below 2x, or perhaps by using a certain brand.

what type of discs are you using? you should try using higher quality media such as Ritek. check these out... http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=17-132-344&DEPA=0

The Ritek discs look nice and for a great price too. I have heard mention that it is possible to make games on plus discs if using Ritek, yet I still need someone to confirm if the discs are good and what speed to burn at.

glibs, yes you need a modchip if you want to play dvd-r games, no mod needed for movies.
Saitoh, ritek +r discs are your best bet. they work on my v9, burnt at 2x.
