Sounds Like there is a Problem with your Drive being able to read the Disk, It just could be that the Disk is on Crappy Media or is Scratched...You can try just Copying the Files off of the DVD without useing SmartRipper and if you still have Problems you can try something like DVD X Rescue or Bad Copy...

You can also try useing DVD Decryptor because when it hits an error it gives you the Option of Copying the Error or ignoreing the error or filling the Bad data with Zero"s which is basicly what DVD X Rescue does...

Good Luck

Well it sounds like someone took some KVCD Files and Backed them up to a DVD and this is the DVD you have..
Also if the Movie is in Black and White then it is Probably a PAL DVD (Unless you live in Europe then the DVD is Probably NTSC) because Most NTSC TV Sets can not properly display PAL Content so you get a B&W Image...If you make a VCD directly from these files without re-encodeing them you will also get a Black and White Image when Playing the VCD"S....

You can try copying the Files to your Desktop without any ripping software and see if that works if not and the other things don"t work then there is Probably a problems with the disk....
