Ritek 4x
burned at 1x - plays fine on console player
burned at 4x - stutters on colsole player

I only made two tests, so it's not conclusive that burning faster causes stuttering. They both play fine on other consoles. What I'm asking is if I buy the 8x discs, would I get a better burn at 4x?

Only a 10% difference in price, so maybe it's a dumb question...

Hi,

Whether the 8X media is a "better" quality or not I couldn't really say.

It's possible that a firmware upgrade may do the trick. What make/model drive are you using and what firmware version?

Another aspect to check would be the compatibility of your standalone player. Some don't do well with burned media. Have you tried your burned discs in any other players? Here's a link to check your player:
