According to Apple fan Philip Elmer-DeWitt at Fortune, the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are already on significant back order in China. 6S Plus started with shipping dates of Oct 16th to 23rd, on AT&T.... Premier customers were allowed a 15 minute head start on the "rest of the world". Still they have Oct 16th shipping (not delivery) dates.

It was stated that after 48 hours, (still time left) the status will update. There are conflicting reports. The 6S Plus will arrive on the 25th or will ship on the 25th. No one seems to know which.

This lack of transparency is the biggest news on the preorder forums.
