TiVo's latest set-top box, the Bolt, is making a play to be your primary streaming device. The Bolt supports cable and Verizon FiOS, has inputs for an OTA antenna and supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet making it very versatile. Oh Tivo.............the absolute BEST DVR platform in history. Revolutionized the digital video recorder.


So much love and honor and respect. It pains me to say this. YOU'RE DONE!

Tivo never changed with the times enough. Now how do you compete with the Ever-growing ISP and cable company-issued FREE DVR???????

You reduce your costs, avoid ongoing and yearly charges and give the SAME FEATURES as the ISP.

Tivo didn't do this. Their hardware is pricey, annual charge for the guide is sooooo 2001 and no longer relevant. Their guide/platform, while the best, is not 'best enough' to eliminate the free DVR from your cable company. You cannot use your Tivo with ALL ISPs as not all have 'cable cards' (Uverse) and even if you do, you're still paying the cable company for the use of their DVR and satellites.


Tivo won lawsuits but in the longrun, they're doomed because they can't assimilate.
