I have several DVD-audio discs in which I purchased a few years back and would like to have copies of for when I go on vacation.

Using DVDfab I can only copy the VIDEO_TF folder and not the AUDIO_TF. I tried to use Nero 6 and create an image file of the DVD however I'm getting a copyright protection error.

IS there a program in which will copy both the VIDEO_TF &AUDIO_TF Folders to the hard drive as an image without having the copy protect error?

I finally just copied the contents of the dvd-audio disc to a folder on the hard drive. I then burned the files in Nero (video dvd). I received several cautionary errors before the burn but the dvd plays just like the origional in my dvd player.

Lots of great dvd-audio discs here:

I still would like some feedback by others who has worked with dvd-audio.

Thanks

You cannot copy protected files from the Audio_TS folder in DVD-A.
CPPM, the DVD-A copy protection, has never been cracked and is currently un rippable.
Also, there is nothing available to decode the MLP stream either, so you cannot extract to WAV files even if you could rip the audio.

What happens is this:
Copy the AOB files etc. from the Audio_TS folder, and you can mount them using Gear Pro Mastering Edition, and the disc will burn too as a new DVD-Audio disc.
However, the menu will not display, and you will hear no sound when the disc plays either.

The only way to copy the content is to actually record all 6, or 2 if in stereo, tracks into your PC using a multichannel soundcard in real time as you play the disc.

Sorry, as this is not what you wanted to hear.
But what you ask is impossible at present.

Thanks. I understsand what you saying. Although I copied (drag and drop) both the Audio_tf and Video_tf folders to the hard drive. I then moved the coresponding files to the Audio_ts & Video_ts folders in Nero6 (Video dvd). In the end it appeared to have worked. The Audio-dvds (dolby 5.1) sound and play like the origional. I did a close audio inspection, listening to each speaker (Center, FL,FR,BL,BR)and it's like the origional. Since it worked I'm not going to question it. But then again this is only the first disc. The others might not go as well. Thanks.

The Dolby Digital stuff is all in the Video_TS folder, and is easily rippable with stuff like DVD-Audio ripper, DVDDecrypter etc.
The AOB files in Audio_TS will not play correctly.
The disc will compile & burn, and appear to load, but nothing happens.
No graphics, no audio.

Dolby Digital is not DVD-Audio.
DVD-Audio is uncompressed PCM or MLP files.
DD/DTS is Audio in DVD-Video.
