Bit Torrent + Router = Disconnection, Please HELP!!!

I have a huge problem with Bit Torrent, anyone who knows how to solve this problem, please help!!
I'm using ABC as my BT client, and I share my internet with my roommate with a Linksys router.
Every time when I use ABC to download a torrent file, after a little while (sometimes half an hour, or about 10 minutes, sometimes is even less than 5 minutes), my internet got disconnected. I have to press the reset button on my router to have the internet working again. And if I keep downloading torrent file, it will happen again and again...
I have tried to connect my PC directly to the cable modem and I won't experience this problem. This problem only happens when I'm using the router. This really bothers, please help, I'll be really appreciated. thanks!
