Backing up my movies

Yes, I am a newbie. I want to back up my PURCHASED copy-protected movies. I have all the normal software including AnyDVD. I want full copies even if it means (which it usually will) creating two DVDs from the single original because the original is too large to fit on a single DVD. How do I do create an exact copy of my purchased movie and what products do I use? I have just created an 8.3 gig ISO file when copying one of my movies with no compression using Shrink DVD but I don't know of any product that will burn that image on to two blank DVDs. How do I recreate the movie onto two DVD -Rs?

Many thanks for that incredibly quick response.
The next question is what type of files does this process put out? VOB and IFO files? What burning program do you use to burn the DVD(s)? I used all kinds of stuff... Dr. Mercury's Movie Kit with TMPGEnc, etc. BUT I don't actually remember using a burning program that accepted multiple files as input except for bin/cue, CloneCD etc.

hi that is the program DVD Shrink 3.2
its VOB plays direct to you DVD.
just click on the Links and press next to see how its done.

just for you to know.
you dont need to put a Original DVD into two DVD-r
just follow this link
DVD Shrink "Full-Disk" mode enables you to keep the structure of the original DVD intact.
You can still apply different levels of compression to each title (menus, movie, extras), and deselect audio/subpicture streams.

Thanks. I have just begun fiddling with DVD Shrink but I was unaware that it would actually do the burning. That's what you're saying, correct? That DVD Shrink will do the DVD burn also?
BTW, Is it possible to actually open a second original DVD like an extras disk before you actually burn the second part of your aplit movie and include parts of it in the second usually fairly empty blank without closing DVD Shrink and reopening it?

Yes, I knew that I could apply compression but that's the point. I want it at the same quality as the original. At forty cents a piece who cares if it takes two disks.

Answer:
yes
you can burn direct or make a backup to the Hard drive and then burn with Nero.

No Idea never try doing that, but again still a newbie, maybe someone else can asnwer you that, just play around with it.

True but i hate having to get up just to change the DVD and insert disc#2, i dont have the extras on by backups, i dont need i have them on the original DVD so i can get good quality.

Answer - NO, But you can put DVD Decrypter on your system (its FREE) and use that to burn with Shrink or you can use Nero if you have it as stated by Darkblade. If you don't want the extras you can use shrink in reauthor mode to burn just the movie. Most of the time when doing just the movie there is very little compression and many times there is no compression at all.

Many thanks for the assistance.
DVD Shrink works just fine. Is there a way in Re-author mode to get the menus copied as well? When I tried to include them I got an error message that basically said that this function wasn't available in Re-author mode. What I am primarily interested in is the ability to select Dolby 5.1 or DTS (if present) rather than just stereo. Several different audio streams were available on the original DVD and audio is present on the output, I just haven't listened to enough of the DVD yet to tell if it is just stereo or Dolby 5.1

You can't keep the menus in Shrink if you reauthor. but you can keep the audio stream that you want. When in Reauthor mode select the "Main Movie" then switch tabs to the compresion tab and deselect all the audio stream except for the stream that you want.

If you want the menus and the main movie, use full disc mode. select the extras, and under compression, choose still picture.
