Al Jazeera America cable channel shuts down, will move to digital

Al Jazeera America, the cable channel launched in 2013 to rival mainstream media like CNN and Fox News, has shut down following years of no viewership.

Your point isn't terrible, but some of the individual items on your list are NOT particularly Arabic (note - civilization in general is much older than Arabic culture):
- Alcohol is considered as potentially being the reason civilization started in the 1st place (bread being accidentally cooked brew mash).
- Candy has existed since humans discovered sweet foods.
- Massage existed in China long before anywhere else.

I meant the words are of Arabic origin, but some of the actual things (e.g. coffee & guitar), plus some other things like optical lenses, torpedoes and algebra are too.

It is rather sad...an actual news network finally shows up and most cable companies won't carry it (or you need to buy 200 channels of reality shows to get it)...when it does get carried, people assume it must be an islamic extremist network so they don't watch. There are actually people who think Al Jazeera is a terrorist organization, no joke! Now the entire 24 hour TV news is just fox, cnn, and msnbc arguing about what constitutional rights should be eliminated first. The news has been dictated by the actions of the uninformed...sickening.
Helvehammer - While I generally agree that religion is a sham and that all religions (even christianity) are nothing but mental poison, Al Jazeera is not a religious network, and they have reporters of all faiths and ethnicities all over the world, even where there are no camels to be found. People like you are the reason that reddit is now a more trusted news source than any 24 hour network on TV. I hope the next time you are burning a cross, it falls over and lights your white robe on fire.
