i have a sony handycam video 8 camcorder, anologe and have lot of old 10 year old tapes i would like to put onto dvd via computer. I've bought magic tv-pvr pvi but i'm having trouble using it. I'm not sure if i've done its connections right and once it is connected up right, what do i do in plain english to make it all work
I APOLOGISE for being a dumb blonde, but is there a patient person out there who can spare the time to talk me through it.

Well you should First make sure it is Installed Properly and it"s Drivers are installed Properly...

If you are Connecting a Handy Cam to the card then you will Probably need an RCA or S-Video cable to go from your Camcorder to the RCA Input on your TV Card, and also make sure that the audio is going into your Sound Card which you Might need an adapter to do...

After you have everything set up you should just have to start up your Capture software and go into the settings and set the Video source as "Composite" if useing the RCA Inputs on the Card or to "S-Video if useing S-Video input on the Card, now you should see a Preview on the screen and should be able to Capture....

I could Probably help you more If I knew more about what Inputs the TV Card has and What type of Outputs your Video source has (Camcorder?) and what Type of Capture software you are useing and what format it captures to and anything else you can tell me would also help in me trying to help you Like what Things you have tried to get it to work and what the exact problem is ect....

thanks for the information, I have printed it and am going to try what you have said. Unfortunately at the moment, I cant do it now, due to various reasons, but as soon as i can give you the information you asked for, I'll post again.
