Despite the fact that there is a lawsuit out there over the accuracy of Fitbit's heart rate monitors, at least one reputable publication has found the data to be accurate. Consumer Reports tested the Charge HR and Surge through high-impact workouts and found it to be as accurate as chest-based heart rate monitors. Can't they just put a disclaimer on it saying this is not a medical device and should not be relied upon to be 100% accurate? They should just publish the accuracy plus or minus a certain bpm or percentage of total bpm. I would be very surprised if there isn't already. They deserve to get sued if they made claims of achieving some kind of perfection.
