Well, you can try using DVD Decryptor if DVD Shrink didn't work.

Every once and a while A disc pops up that Shrink can't crack. I don't have Cat in the Hat and haven't heard anything about it, but you may have found one. Download DVD Decrypter and use it, it should crack it open like an egg.

Dvdnoob, download DVD43 completely free from this link at http://www.dvd43.com/ and you shouldn't have too many problems with DVD Shrink.

DVD43 is unneeded with Shrink. Decrypter and Shrink are all you need to do basic backups.

No need? Heh, I found that I need it it with DVD Shrink and Decrypter, especially when I back-up a lot of those very, very expensive Collectors Box Set DVDs from Japan.
But I guess it depends on one's settings and all. I definitely need it, others may not, but it isn't bad to have it either considering what one wants to get done and with what means.

When I run into the copy protection error when using Shrink, I'll fire up DVD43, retry it and the problem goes away :)

I backed up The Cat in the Hat about a month ago.
Didn't have any problems.
I think I used Shrink and Nero, but I'm not entirely sure as I like to experiment with different methods.
Except RB/CCE because life's to short.
I'll just go away.........
